Job Title: Donations Driver
Part-time, Non-exempt, Hourly, 25 to 30-hours per week. Must work Tuesdays and Fridays and start at 7am (remaining days TBD)
Works with: Donation Specialist
Reports to: Facility Manager
Salary Range: $20.00 per hour
Work Location: Homeless Shelter, Beaverton, OR
The Good Neighbor Center serves families experiencing housing insecurity with empathy and equity. The GNC team provides a safe environment and needed resources while assisting in finding permanent housing and stability. GNC serves nine families at a time, with an average house of 30 people or more.
The PositionWorking environment includes working in a homeless shelter. Drives Good Neighbor Center (GNC) vehicle to pick up donated goods and distributes some donated goods to other nonprofit organizations as directed. May clean, service, and maintain the vehicle as needed or at the very least work with the Facility Manager on repairs needed. This position also includes assisting the Donation and Food Service Specialist with sorting and putting away the donated items every day that donations are accepted. The Good Neighbor Center is a drug free environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Drives Good Neighbor Center vehicle to pick up donated goods;
Loads and unloads all donated material;
Distributes some donated goods to other nonprofit organizations as directed;
Maintains an effective working relationship with donor representatives, GNC staff, volunteers, and the general public;
Contacts donors when providing pick up service to notify them of lateness or route changes;
Schedules and calendars minor maintenance on GNC vehicle (oil change, tire inflation, cleans truck, etc.);
Assist with sorting and putting away donated items as needed;
Capable of performing tasks with limited supervision;
Assists other front line staff members when needed;
Support the goals of the organization in a team-oriented environment
High School diploma and at least 6 months of related delivery experience;
A valid Oregon driver’s license or equivalent;
A good driving record as proved by DMV record search;
Clean Criminal Background Check and Urine Analysis Screening;
Ability to lift 75 pounds alone, stand, squat, bend, climb in/out of van;
Ability to work in heat and cold; indoor/outdoor;
Punctuality, strong time management, and strong communication skills required;
This is a drug free workplace and all new hires must pass a pre-employment drug test.
